My local friends know that my big show each year is participating in Silicon Valley Open Studios (SVOS) each May. 2016 marked my 6th year attending this amazing event where artists of all mediums open up their studios and invite the public in. It's a wonderful event, free to the public, encouraging more exposure to art in all its forms. It's an amazing time and I encourage you to attend if you're in the area.
I was contacted by a freelance writer who had been given my name by SVOS for a possible interview, as they intended to publish a certain number on their website. It was the first time I'd ever been interviewed and really didn't know what to expect, but Ms. Egan was extremely good at her job, and before I knew it, the interview was done. I think I learned as much as she did, and one thing in particular is that I tend to use a lot of jeweler's jargon which doesn't always translate to everyone. I've tried hard to remember that when I'm describing pieces on my website.
A few weeks later, I was absolutely honored to learn my interview had been selected as one of the artists to be featured on the SVOS website! You can read it here.
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
